In this article: Settings, Security, Preferences, Erase data.
1. Settings
To open the app’s settings, select Settings from the menu of the main view.
You will see a list of Settings.
They are:
Databases – here can be found details of databases, added new databases, and open Database operations for selected database;
Security – configure security settings like Auto-lock and Biometric login (see Security);
Preferences – adjust multiple user interface options like Interface and Search (see Preferences);
Appearance – adjust interface appearance options like Theme and Lock screen (see Appearance)
Autofill – configure autofill for your passwords in apps and browsers (see Autofill in apps and Autofill in Chrome);
Auto Backup - automatic backup of your data to a file on your device on a regular basis (see Auto backup);
Wear OS – configure integration with your watch (see Smartwatch).
Erase Data – erase all your local data (see Erase data);
Premium – opens Premium info, settings, and subscription management (this settings is shown only for SafeInCloud 2, see Premium settings);
About – see the app’s version, Support email, Website and Privacy info;
Install on Computer – link to download the latest version for Windows/MacOS;
Import/Export – to import your data from another password manager, install a free Desktop app from https://www.safe-in-cloud.com/download and select File > Import from the menu;
2. Security
The security settings are:
Locks
Lock at exit – lock the app when you switch to another app;
Auto-lock – lock the app after a certain timeout, when you switch to another app.
Authentication
Fast unlock – unlock SafeInCloud with the 4 first or last symbols of your password (you’ll have only one attempt).
Biometric login – unlock the app with biometrics (Attention! You should always remember your password anyway);
Biometric method – always use fingerprints or use a biometric method selected in the system to unlock the phone (can be fingerprints, retina or face recognition);
Unlock with PIN-code – use system PIN-code to unlock the app;
Hide keyboard – hide the keyboard by default on the authorization screen;
Require password every – require entering your password once in several days instead of using the biometric login (to avoid forgetting the password);

Self-erase
Password attempts – erase all local data (not the data on a cloud or other devices) after a certain number of wrong password attempts.
Misc
Allow screenshots – allow taking a screenshot or recording the video of the launched app (if not selected, recorded screenshots/videos will be shown black).
3. Preferences
The preferences are:
Interface
Card’s subtitle – what to show in card subtitles in the card list (labels or login);
At login – what to do after entering SafeInCloud (show the cards, open the label list, or activate the search);
Default databse - a database to open after entering SafeInCloud (this settings is shown only for SafeInCloud 2);
Default label – a label to switch after entering SafeInCloud;
Favorites at top – show favorite cards (with stars) at the top of the card list;
Hide passwords – mask passwords (••••••) in the view mode;
Show card count – show number of cards for labels in the side menu;
Warn expiring cards within – show warnings for cards expiring within certain period (to be recognized a card should have a field with an Expiry type).
Search
Search All Cards – the app automatically switches to All Cards, when you start the search;
Search preview – what to show in card subtitles during the search (found text or card’s login);
Search by labels– include labels into the search
Search through passwords – include passwords into the search.
Browser
Use built-in – use the internal browser instead of the system default browser when you tap a website address;
In paired window – open a browser in the adjacent window in the split-screen mode.
Icons
Use website icons – download and assign a website icon (favicon) for each card that contains a website address;
Clear cache – clear all download website icons and redownload them again.
4. Erase data
In this menu user can erase local database and app settings on the device and start over from the blank.
!NB Erasing data action will erase all local applications's data and settings from the device. This action will not erase any data from the cloud. Data from the cloud can be deleted manually from its location (see Cloud database location)
